Just be a human
A small gesture goes a long way
Welcome to the 19th issue of Write On!
The newsletter that goes together like lamb and tuna fish.

$140,920 in 4 days:
Kieran Drew is one of my favorite creators/ writers/ tweeters on the internet.
He’s a must-follow for anybody interested in writing.
Just over a week ago, he finished launching his second digital product.
The result?
$140,920 in course sales in just 4 days.
Impressive would be an understatement.
He’s been tweeting about the experience the entire way. This post, in particular, caught my eye:
The 3 highest performing emails from the product launch:
1. What David Perell and Jack Butcher taught me about escaping my 9-5
2. The day Naval Ravikant slapped me in the face
3. I got into a bar fight with Justin Welsh and Dan Koe
Less selling.
More storytelling.

A small gesture goes a long way
Father’s Day is a big time of year for us at Beard Club.
We send many emails and text messages during this time to promote our gifting options and sitewide sale.
Last year, a friend who had recently lost their father mentioned that it would be nice if we gave email subscribers the option to pause their marketing campaigns during this time.
So we did.
And the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
We’re running it back again this year. The email went out yesterday.
We’ll probably get 1,000+ opt-outs.
That number is small in the grand scheme of our email list size, but that’s a lot of human beings.
It shows every person on our list that we’re not just thinking of them as an email address in a database.
Here’s the email copy for reference:
💡 Bottom line: You know your audience better than anybody else. Treat them like you’d treat a friend. Show you’re thinking about them as more than just a subscriber.
That’s all for this week. Thanks for reading.
See you next Wednesday!
